He was very smart and always knew all the answers, but what else would you expect from the preachers kid!! You all will always be very special to us. Dear Dennis, Susie and family, I am so heartbroken over the loss of Caleb. My favorite memories of Caleb are the years he spent as Youth Director at FBC Anton. He was so loved by all the high school kids and several of them will be at the service tomorrow. My daughter, Stacy, was active in youth activities and I was privileged to be a sponsor on different trips skiing, to the Youth Evangelistic Conference in Dallas twice, if not 3 times. Caleb had a very active youth program. He did a wonderful job and will always have a very special place in my heart. Please know that I am holding you all in my prayers, asking for God’s comfort and peace as you find your way through your grief. I truly love you guys and again am so sorry.

I didn’t ever meet Caleb but I know his wife, Lindsey which gives me a good insight to the kind of man that Caleb is. As I read his obituary, I was struck with how thoughtful he has been throughout his life in prioritizing those things which are of most worth. His example is both uplifting and motivational.
Life is not always easy, life is not always fair but Jesus saves and I feel that Caleb knew that better than most. He is in a good place which leaves behind those who grieve his passing and who may not feel that they are in a good place. I know that, with the passing of time, the darkness will lift and the peace that Jesus promises will be restored:-
”Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27)

I remember when you and your family first moved to Lamesa. Before y’all lived in the pastor house on the north side of town y’all lived in a different house on the south side of town, a couple of blocks from my house. It was an exciting time to have new kids in the neighborhood to hangout and play with! It’s heartbreaking you’re no longer here but I know you’re walking the streets of gold and having the best day ever. I’m so sorry for your loss.
