Obituary of Bobby E. Thomason

Services for Bobby E. "Cat" Thomason, 79, of Abernathy, TX, will be held at 2:30 pm Wednesday, December 28, 2016, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Mike O'Donnell, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family will gather Tuesday evening, December 27, from 6pm until 7 pm to receive friends. Mr. Thomason died at his home Sunday, December 25, 2016. He was born October 19, 1937, in Spur, TX to Homer G. and Berniece (Rutledge) Thomason. He married Margie Louise Johnson June 6, 1956 in Spur. He served in the US Army Reserves from 1956 until 1964. They moved to Abernathy in 1970 from Irving, TX and retired from Wolf Irrigation in 2002. He was a member of the First Baptist Church. Bobby loved following all sporting events his Grandchildren participated in. He is survived by his wife, Louise Thomason of Abernathy, a son, Bobby Max Thomason and wife Delayne of South Lake, TX, 2 daughters, Penny Louise Ritchie and husband Richard of Mineral Wells, TX and Sharon Cannon and husband Rodney of Abernathy, 8 siblings, Homer R. Thomason, Wanda Hooker, June Payne, Joyce Harris, Annette Countryman, Buddy Howell, Sandra Shipley and Eddi Buckner. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Rick G. Thomason, Matt Pierce, Richelle Thomason Garcia, Ryan Pierce, Brittany Cannon and Justin Cannon and 3 great grandchildren, Nolan Pierce, Rex Pierce and Abi Garcia. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Abernathy Senior Citizens at 717 Ave. C, Abernathy, TX 79311.
