Services for Fay Dell (Carothers) Bradshaw, 82, formerly of Abernathy, TX, were held at 11:00 am Wednesday, September 8, 2004, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with David Bennett and Steve Gauntt officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mrs. Bradshaw died in Richardson, TX, Saturday, September 4, 2004. She was born March 25, 1922 in Garden Valley, TX. She married J. O. Bradshaw, after eloping 62 years ago, November 23, 1941 in Hollis, OK. The resided in Abernathy from 1950 until 1958 and again from 1990 until 1996. She was a member of the Abernathy Church of Christ. She and her husband owned and operated Bradshaw's Drug in Abernathy, she was a Mary Kay distributor and she was a fashion Buyer for J. C. Penney Company. She retired from Albuquerque National Bank and Texas American Bank in Midland, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother and 3 sisters. She is survived by her children, Lynnea and Danny Greenhaw of Forney, TX, Wynnett Stracener of Los Lunas, NM, a brother, Willie Joe Carothers of Tulia, TX, one brother-in-law, R. C. Bradshaw of Wichita Falls, TX, and a sister-in-law, Sue Bradshaw also of Wichita Falls, TX. Her survivors also include her grandchildren, Terry Dowell, Cindy Sims, Kevin Stracener, Todd Stracener, Ryan Stracener, Dana McDonough and Jana Wallace, 11 great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
