William "Glen" Thomas of Hale Center, TX, departed this life on Sunday, December 12, 2010, at the age of 91. He was born November 10, 1919 in Denton, TX to W.S. and Sally Thomas. He married Eva Pearl Owen on December 24, 1937 in Pine Bluff, AR. The couple moved back to where he grew up in Hale Center in 1937, where she passed on August 29, 1967. He married Marie Berlin Steward on August 2, 1969 in Hale Center where they had lived since. He served in the United State Navy during World War II. His memory will be cherished by his wife of more than 41 years, Marie of Hale Center, TX, a son Charles and his wife Marilyn Thomas of Amarillo, TX, and a daughter, Virginia and her husband Jimmy Shuey of Abernathy, TX, a step son, Gary and his wife Donna Steward of Denver, CO, a step daughter, Brenda and her husband Bryan Faus of Jacksonville, FL, 17 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Glen was preceded in death by his parents, a wife, one brother and one sister. Services were held 11:00 am Thursday, December 16, 2010 at the Hale Center Church of Christ with Silas Short and Dr. Carrol Green officiating. A military service followed in the Plainview Memorial Park under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX.
