Obituary of Clarence Tedder

Funeral services for Clarence E. Tedder, 80, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Monday, April 17, 2006, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Perez, Rev. John Lowrie and Rev. Clifton Igo officiating. Military Graveside Services were held in the Levelland Cemetery, Levelland, TX, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Tedder died Thursday, April 13, 2006, in his home surrounded by his family. He was born June 10, 1925 in Gray, OK. He served in the United States Army. He earned his BA degree from Wayland Baptist University. He married Martha E. Grizzle, November 27, 1952 in Lubbock, TX. He was an ordained Baptist Minister and pastored many churches in the Lubbock area. They moved to Abernathy in 2002 from Whitharral, TX, and he was a member of Northside Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by a son, Joe Paul Tedder on June 8, 1975, and 5 brothers and a sister. He is survived by his wife, Martha Tedder of Abernathy, TX, 2 daughters, Cynthia J. Fair of New Deal, TX and Tisa Lynn Tedder of Lubbock, TX, 4 grandchildren, James Fair, Tiffany Fair, Kevin Hockenberry and Kasey Hockenberry, 2 great grandchildren, Stephanie Fair and Christopher Fair and 2 brothers, Howard C. Tedder of Newton, KS and W. G. Tedder of Fritch, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Clarence Tedder Love Fund c/o City Bank. Abell Funeral Home
