Services for Loy Eldon Teague, 79, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Monday, October 18, 2010, in the First Baptist Church, County Line, TX, with Rev. Brett Adkins and Rev. Gene Spies officiating. Burial followed in the City of Lubbock Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Teague died at his home, Thursday, October 14, 2010. He was born June 19, 1931 on the Family farm in Hale County, TX and was a lifelong resident of that farm. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Alaska. He married Bernice Grigg on December 28, 1960 in Anton, TX. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and was a member of the County Line First Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bernice Teague of Abernathy, TX, a son, Bill Teague, also of Abernathy, 2 grandsons and their families, James Teague and wife Kelli and children, Taylor, Cameron, Luke and Andrew all of Mansfield, TX, and Matt Teague and his wife Tina and children, Krisa, Kaylee and Emma. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Heart Assoc. Abell Funeral Home
