Obituary of Victoria Ponce

Rosary for Victoria P. Ponce, 73, of Arden, N. C., were recited at 6:00 pm Saturday, October 4, 2003, at St. Isidore Catholic Church, Abernathy, TX, with Rev. Arnold Bravo, officiating. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 10:00 am Monday, October 6, 2003, in the same church with the same officiant. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home. Mrs. Ponce died on Thursday, October 2, 2003, in Arden, N.C. She was born on February 23, 1930, to Leopaldo and Irene Morales Partida. She married Juan Ponce on April 28, 1946 in Edinburg, TX. She had been a longtime resident of Abernathy, TX before moving to North Carolina several years ago. She was preceded in death by 1 son, Roy Ponce, SR in 1975 and 1 daughter, Estela Ponce in 1952. Survivors include her husband, Juan Ponce of Arden, N.C. 2 sons, Johnny Ponce and Ruben Ponce both of Abernathy, TX. 1 daughter, Sylvia Trapp of Arden, N.C. 2 brothers, Fidel Partida of Sunnyside, WA, and Santos Partida of Edinburg, TX. 3 sisters, Dolores Vecchio of Abernathy, TX, Josefa Pardo and Silva Rosales both of Edinburg, TX. 10 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be made to St. Isidore Catholic Church. Abell Funeral Home
