Services for George Travis Patton, 66, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Saturday, May 29, 2010, in the Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Patton died Tuesday, May 25, 2010, in Abernathy, TX. He was born to C.O. and Edna Mae (Queen) Patton on May 27, 1943 in Houston, TX. He was a graduate of Floydada High School Class of 1961. He attended Draughn's Business College and later became a Specialist 4th Class in the Texas National Guard. In 1966 he and Donna Jean Martin were married in Lubbock, TX. He was employed at Oden Chevrolet in Floydada, TX and later at Don Crow Chevrolet in Lubbock. In 1974 he became a salesman for Bowman Industries. He bought Patton's Parts Place in Abernathy, TX in 1977 and owned and operated it until his death. He was a member of the Abernathy Church of Christ. George loved helping kids and coached many youth teams over the years. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, W. C. Patton. He is survived by his wife Donna of Abernathy, TX, 2 sons, Zachary Patton of League City, TX and Zeke Patton of Lubbock, TX, nephew Brian Martin of Spring, niece, Brandi Romero of Dallas, TX. He is survived by one brother, Larry Patton of Florida and 6 grandchildren, Grayson Patton, Cole Martin, Christian, Camryn, Corrie and Cailyn Romero. Abell Funeral Home
