Larry Cothrin, Chaplain at University Medical Center iin Lubbock. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Jessica died Wednesday, April 20, 2005, at University Medical Center after a courageous fourteen year bout with Lupus. She was born August 16, 1967 , in Ft. Worth, TX. The family moved to Abernathy in 1976. She was well loved in the community where she was an active member of the First Baptist Church. For five years she was owner and operator of J Henry's where she created homemade pastries that were sought after far and wide. She is survived by one son, Cleve Blakemore Riley. She was so proud of his many accomplishments. She never missed a basketball or football game of Cleve's and always had her video camera rolling. She was also the loving mother of a six year old daughter, Kennedy King. Kennedy was the apple of her eye and one could always find them playing games, reading books and having fun together. Jessica is also survived by her parents, Jim and Karen Thomas of Abernathy; one sister and best friend, Jennifer Royal and her husband Steve and their three children, Taylor, Garrett and Addison; grandparents, Con and Lorene Thomas of Lubbock and the late Jesse Margie Morrison of Abernathy. She leaves a host of relatives and dear friends that will miss her daily. The family suggests tokens of sympathy be sent to the Lupus Foundation of America, North Texas Chapter, P. O.
