Services for Lloyd Jones, 65, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 10:00 am, Monday, October 28, 2002, in the First United Methodist Church, Abernathy, TX, with Rev. Ken Horn, Hospice Chaplain, officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Jones died at his home in Lubbock, TX, on Friday, October 25, 2002. He was born on October 30, 1936 in Hart, TX. He was a former lineman for SPS in Plainview, TX, before moving to Lubbock to work for Acme Electric where he worked until 1982 when he was transferred to Ft. Worth. In 1997 Acme Electric transferred him back to Lubbock. He was a member of Harwood Baptist Church in Ft. Worth. He was an active volunteer for the Alcoholics Anonymous Recovery Center, helping with the remodeling of the Recovery Center. He counseled at the prisons through AA, and had served as a sponsor. He was honored as being a Board Member Emeritus for the Alcoholic Recovery Center. Survivors; 1 son, Monty Jones of El Paso, TX, 2 daughters, Lola Jones of Lubbock, TX, and Tammy Sageser of Cotton Center, TX. 1 brother, E. M. Jones of Dimmitt, TX. 2 sisters, Dorothy Gill of Canyon, TX, and Arlene Kerr of Lubbock, TX. 6 grandchildren, Krystal Burnett of Plainview, TX, Kendra Jones and Kacie Jones both of El Paso, TX, Kami Payne and Blain Sageser both of Cotton Center, TX, and Kristy Frye of Lubbock, TX. 3 great grandchildren, Kaylee Burnett of Plainview, TX and Kayla Sageser and Eric Sageser both of Cotton Center, TX. The family suggests memorials be sent to thd Alcoholic Recovery Center, P.O. Box 1084, Lubbock, TX 79408 or to Vista Care Hospice, 7606 University, Ste, C, Lubbock, TX 79423. Abell Funeral Home
