Services for Imogene Hollingsworth, 85, of Plainview were held 2:00 pm Tuesday, November 28, 2006 in the Hale Center Church of Christ. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Hollingsworth died at her residence in Plainview on Saturday, November 25, 2006. She was born June 4, 1921 in Hale County, TX to Jessie Blanche (Pate) and Oliver V. Powell. She married Walter Hollingsworth on March 1, 1946 in Mineral Wells, TX, he preceded her in death March 21, 1988. She was a Hale County resident all of her life, living in the Cotton Center, Hale Center and the Plainview areas of the county where her and her husband farmed. She worked at Edgemere School in Plainview, TX as a custodian. She was a member of 11th & Amarillo Street ,Church of Christ in Plainview, TX. She is survived by 2 daughters; Joye and her husband Charley Haney of Plainview, TX and Barbara Kirchhoff of Midland, TX, 2 sisters, Afton Thomas of Dumas, TX and Clotee Minchew of Hereford, TX, 5 grandchildren, Juli Early& her husband Jerry of Austin, TX, Lori McCarver & her husband Robby of Canyon, TX, Darren Kirchhoff and Cameron Kirchhoff of Midland, TX and Gavin Haney of Plainview, TX, 3 great grandchildren, Mia, Abby and Bailey Early all of Austin, TX. The family suggests memorial contributions be sent to Hospice Hands of West Texas, 305 N. Main, Lockney, TX 79241 or the American Cancer Society, 3411 73rd St., Lubbock, TX 79423 Abell Funeral Home
