Services for Melvina Vee Flinn, 75, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 16, 2007, in the Lubbock Primitive Baptist Church, 4401 N. University, with Elder George Johnson officiating and Gary Flinn assisting. The family received friends at the church Saturday morning from 10:00 am until 11:00 am. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Ms. Flinn departed this life on Thursday, June 14, 2007, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on January 12, 1932 in Lubbock County, TX to G. G. and Effie (Williford) Flinn. She graduated from New Deal High School, New Deal, TX, in 1949 and Draughn's Business College in 1950. She was a longtime Lubbock County resident and a member of the Primitive Baptist Church in Lubbock. She loved her Yorkie puppies. She is survived by a brother, W. R. "Randell" Flinn of Lubbock, TX, 2 sisters, Wilda Myers of Lubbock, TX and Donnell King of Atlanta, TX, a host of neices and nephews and a special friend, Keith Johnson of Hattiesburg, Mississippi. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Primitive Baptist Church, 4401 N. University, Lubbock, TX 79415 or to Vista Care Hospice, 1717 Norfolk, Lubbock, TX 79416 or a favorite charity.
