Obituary of Wilber Davis

Services for Wilber J. "Shorty" Davis, 96, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 10:00 am Tuesday, December 5, 2006, in the First Baptist Church with Dr. Carroll Green officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX.. Mr. Davis died Sunday, November 3, 2006 in Plainview, TX. He was born March 21, 1910 in Goldthwaite, TX. He married Oleta Marie Davis on May 2, 1936 in Olton, TX, She preceded him in death December 28, 1997. He had lived in Hale Center since 1920 and was a custom harvester working from South Texas to Colorado each year. Surviviors include a daughter and her husband, Linda & Donald Chapman of Hale Center, TX, a brother, Marvin Davis of Lubbock, TX, a sister, Eva "Billie" Ferguson of Hale Center, TX, 4 grandchildren and their spouses, Jeff & Cindy Chapman, Monty & Andrea Chapman, Stephen & Lori Davis and Crystal & Dan Blasky and 8 great grandchildren.
