Graveside services for Dorothy Faye (Davis) Reeves, 85, of Abernathy, TX will be held at 10:00am Friday, June 14, 2024, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Tom Fuller, officiating. The family will gather to receive friends from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm, Thursday, June 13, 2024, at Abell Funeral Home. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Reeves died June 10, 2024, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on June 15, 1938 to Harold and Isabell (Harral) Davis in Hale County, TX. Mrs. Reeves was raised in Abernathy and graduated from Abernathy High School in 1956. She married Raymond Reeves on July 5, 1956 in Abernathy, TX and were married 20 years and to that union was born 4 sons, Mike, Danny, David, and Robby. Dorothy then married Charles Harris on February 14, 1981 and they were married for 18 years. She lived in Arizona and Brownwood before returning to Abernathy, where she resided the last 25 years. Mrs. Reeves was active with the Abernathy Senior Citizens and was a member of the Abernathy First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Reeves is preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Harold Gene Davis. She is survived by her 4 sons Mike Reeves and wife, Lora of Lubbock, Danny Reeves and wife, Sue, of Springtown, TX, David Reeves, and Robby Reeves of Ropesville, TX, 2 grandchildren Rachel Rogers and husband, Shane, of Ropesville, and Rainey McKiernan and husband, Chris of Colfax, WA, 3 great grandchildren Jaxon, Floyd, & Isabelle, and a brother, Eddie Davis and wife, Cindy, of Escondido, CA. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Amanda, Olivia, and all the staff at Remington Park for the love and care they have shown Grandma and our family.
