Obituary of Stuart Rowell Toman

A memorial service for Stuart Rowell Toman, 62 of Abernathy, TX, will be held Saturday April 15, 2023 from 2:00PM until 5:00 PM at The Alley, 403 S. Ave. D, Abernathy, TX. Stuart Rowell Toman was born November 8, 1960 in Amarillo, TX to John Rowell and Barbara Maud (Harral) Toman. Stuart was raised in Hawaii where he attended school and later attended school in Missouri. He enjoyed visits to his grandparents, during the Summer in Abernathy, helping his grandfather with the farm. Stuart was a Carpenter and a master woodcrafter. He loved working on custom wood projects in his off time. Stuart spent most of his adult life in New Mexico as a father to his three children. In 2011, he made the move to Abernathy, back to where his roots were and where his heart led him to be. He continued custom woodworking projects for various neighbors and managed the family farm that he loved so much, B. Harral Farms. Stuart died at his home, February 27, 2023, in Abernathy, TX at the age of 62. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Maud Harral, and a grandson, Joseph Stuart Toman in 2019. Stuart is survived by a son, Travis Toman of Seattle, WA, 2 daughters, Sirena Toman and Rose Toman both of Lubbock, TX, 7 grandchildren and a great granddaughter, his father, John Rowell Toman, and 3 half-sisters, Julie Toman of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Debbie Armstrong of Burleson, TX and Melissa Toman of Plano, TX. Private family burial will be held in the Abernathy Cemetery, following cremation under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.
