I didn't really know Chris, but Orelia and I knew Melinda from our New Deal high school days. May God bless you and may your soul rest forever in peace.

What a wonderful man… Chris Ford. Growing up with Matthew, we were blessed to spend the time we did with Chris. Chris was a full supporter in all that we did, and treated us like his own. His love for Matthew was so apparent and unconditional. I remember how much fun we had when Chris would come to the school and eat lunch with Matthew (and all his friends). He kept us laughing with his witty humor and quick come backs. You could find him at every game and even many practices, supporting his son along with all other Lions. A true friend to the community and strong Christian role model, Chris Ford, you will truly be missed.

I’m so sorry to hear about the passing of Chris. I pray his family finds peace and comfort during this difficult time. He was such a friendly man who always greeted me anytime I saw him. He was one of the biggest supporters at the softball games and cheered on all the girls. He will be missed.

Great man! Usually the first person I saw in the mornings and the last person at the end of the day... Always had something kind to say about me or my family. He and Derek were a great maintenance/ grounds crew. I went two years without gas in my lab, he had it fixed in a week. You sir will be greatly missed.

We are saddened to hear this news. Chris was a sweet and kind man. As a kid growing up playing sports in this small town, he was a great supporter in all I did and to many others as well and I will forever be grateful for those sweet memories. It was a blessing to have known him. His funny contagious loud laugh is one of the many things I will always remember about him. Our thoughts and prayers go out to this sweet family.

We are so sorry for your loss. What a great man Chris was. Our family has known him for about 25 years. We attended church with him, school events, birthday parties and many more events. Chris was a kind christian man, sensative, had a big heart and a wonderful witty sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by our family. Prayers for peace and comfort to the entire family and friends.

Many memories through the years. 9 years of school together, but the memory I will carry with me is the conversation Chris and I had the summer I was president of the summer baseball program. I had two or three meetings with Pete about the kids stomping his cotton to death chasing foul balls. I never argued with Mr. Ford, I respectfully replied yes sir and no sir and vowed to try my hardest to keep the kids out of the cotton field. Then came the meeting with Chris. We talked a long time out there in the cotton field, both of us trying to keep the kids out of the field. After a coup!e of hours, Chris turned to me and said" You can't win t!his battle, can you". Again I promised to do my best and we parted ways. Contact was lost, but we are all forever connected through our years of small town life in New Deal Texas. My prayers go up tonight for Cindy, Melinda, and Greg, and Matthew May God grant you and your families the peace and comfort you need in this time of great sorrow!
