Memorial services for Jim Stout, 73, of Hale Center will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, September 11, 2021, at Abell Funeral Home with Rev. Ryan Ford officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Jim died Tuesday, August 31, 2021, in Plainview, TX. He was born December 13, 1947 in Plainview to James W. Stout, Sr. and Frances Irene (Arnold). He married Kathy Johnson, September 7, 1968 in Hale Center. He was a longtime Hale Center resident and was a hard working family man. He was employed at Amarillo Road Company for 36 years, retiring in 2008. He would tinker with small engines, repair bicycles and enjoyed woodworking, building benches, crosses, bird houses and blanket chests. Jim was Baptist. Jim was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, James Tanner Stout in 2013. He is survived by his wife Kathy of Hale Center, a son, Ken Stout and wife Denise of Lubbock, TX, a daughter, Jennifer Hill and husband Jerry D of Hale Center, 5 grandchildren, Brittany Stout of Lubbock, Paige Carey and husband Tanner of Lubbock, Jacob Hill and wife Johanna of Hale Center, Haley Stout of Lubbock and Ryan Bristow of Hale Center, 2 great grandchildren, Jordyn Mondragon and Junior McCleskey both of Hale Center and Wayne Johnson and his wife Vona of Las Vegas, NV.
