Obituary of Charlotte Carver

Services for Charlotte Carver, 65, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Thursday, May 1, 2008, in the First Baptist Church, Cotton Center, TX, with Rev. J. D. Templeton and Rev. Randy Land officiating. Burial followed services in the Plainview Cemetery, Plainview, TX, under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Carver died Monday, April 28, 2008 in Lubbock, TX. She was born April 11, 1943 in Plainview, TX, where she graduated Plainview High School and Wayland Baptist College. She married Jim Carver in August of 1962. They moved to Abernathy in 1980 from Cotton Center, TX. She had been a member of the Plainview Junior League, was a Volunteer Leader for 4H. She acheived the American Contract Bridge League Life Masters Designation. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy, TX. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Candace Ann Carver on May 20, 1973 and her husband, Jim on October 8, 1997. She is survived by 2 sons, Jim Bob Carver and his wife Liz of Canyon, TX and David Carver and wife Angie of Abernathy, TX, 5 grandchildren, Owen and Samuel Carver of Canyon, TX, and Caden, Berkley and Kelton Carver all of Abernathy, TX. The family suggests memorials to the Abernathy EMS or to the Jim Carver Memorial Scholarship Fund, benefitting youth, at American State Bank, Plainview, TX. Abell Funeral Home
