So sad to hear this. Our hearts go out to the Houston family. Randy always had the biggest laugh and a genuine salt-of-the-earth good guy. He was my kind of people. I hadn't seen Randy since our high-school reunion probably 20yrs ago. Praying for peace and comfort.

“They say you die twice. One time when you stop breathing and a second time, a bit later on, when somebody says your name for the last time.“ Randy would have hated the guy this quote is attributed to; I don’t care for him much myself. Regardless; there’s truth in it. I haven’t spoken to Randy in over 15 years, and the last conversation we had isn’t suitable for print here. It was 100% him - and me -, though and I won’t forget it. I won’t forget him either. We grew up together, and he was, and always will be an integral part of my life. And I firmly believe it will be a very, very long time before his name is no longer spoken. Rest In Peace my brother.

Randy will always be one of the kindest men I have ever had the privilege of knowing. I will never forget the sound of his joyful laugh or the feel of his warm hearted hugs. Our prayers are for you all during this season that God will bring you comfort and peace.

I am so saddened to hear about Randy. After 32 years of Texas High School coaching, Randy was one of my fondest memories. If there was anyone tougher than Randy Houston, I never knew who he was. RIP Randy.
