Obituary of Kenneth Wayne Cox

Graveside services for Kenneth Wayne Cox, 73 of New Deal, TX will be held 2:00 pm, Friday, October 30, 2020, in the Abernathy Cemetery, Abernathy, TX with Rev. John Bunch officiating. Family will gather to receive friends at at Abell Funeral Home from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm, Thursday, October 29, 2020. Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. Kenneth died Sunday, October 25, 2020 at his home. He was born April 23, 1947 in Sulfur Springs, TX to James Dewey and Vica Beatrice (Jones) Cox. Mr. Cox graduated from high school and later served in the Marine Corp. during Vietnam. Kenneth married Kay Trottles September 17, 1984 in Lubbock, TX. They lived in New Deal, TX for 20 years after moving from Lubbock. Kenneth enjoyed camping, woodworking and participating in cook offs. He loved his dogs greatly and loved getting to ride his Harley motorcycle. Kenneth is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Leroy Cox and James Cox. He is survived by his wife Kay Cox of New Deal, 4 children Chad Cox, Tracy Kepley, Christy Bunch, and Shannon Kepley, 8 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, 2 brothers Franky Lynn Cox, Robert Dewey Cox, and a sister Marry Ann Johnson.
