Billy Bob was one of the greats. A true steward of the Harkey name, in my opinion. He was a “mountain of a man” and definitely the definition of a perfectionist. I was always inspired by the way he picked lint out of the grill of the boll buggy tractor every morning during harvest and remember him hand-washing Janie’s Tahoe every Sunday. He hand cleaned tools and neatly replaced them in the toolbox after every job. He was such a blast to be around. He reminded me regularly that “honesty, integrity and responsibility” were three of the most important keys to being a successful individual. Billy was a great impact on myself as well as many others in the community and I’m sure proud to have known him.
