Peggy D. Greenwood, 85, of Lubbock, TX, was called home to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born in Plainview, TX on March 28, 1933 to Grady Felder Arthur and Dessie (Waters) Arthur. She graduated from Hale Center High School in 1950.
Peggy married her best friend and love of her life, Bernie Joe Greenwood on May 14, 1954. She was director of purchasing for Methodist Hospital for many years.
Peggy, known as "Mama Peg" to family and friends, loved many things in life but the three she cherished the most were the farm, her friends and her family. She loved the farm and the farmers that worked so hard to take care of the land and produce a crop. The friends that took their time to call or drop by and see her were so important to her. How she loved to visit and reminisce of fond memories of the past. She loved her family and always wanted the best for each and every one of them.
Peggy was preceded in death by her husband, Bernie Joe Greenwood, her parents, Grady Arthur and Dessie (Waters) Arthur Neal and her brother Dale Arthur.
Peggy is survived by her "Lubbock son", Angel A. Berlingeri, Jr., and his wife Connie, her grandson, James A. Berlingeri and his wife Daylene, and her great granddaughter, Jessica Angel Berlingeri, all of Lubbock.
She is also survived by her sister, Nancy Kay Savino, many nephews, nieces and cousins.
The family will gather at Abell Funeral Home, 411 16th Street, in Abernathy, TX to receive friends Tuesday, December 18, 2018, from 6:00 pm until 7:30 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, Wednesday, December 19, 2018, in the First United Methodist Church, Hale Center, with Rev. Jimmy Cameron officiating. Burial will follow in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a charity of your choice.
