Obituary of James Anthony Loper

Graveside services for James Anthony "Tony" Loper, 66, of Deltona, FL, will be held at 10:00 am Friday, September 21, 2018, in the Abernathy Cemetery, Abernathy, TX.  Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy.

Tony died Friday, September 7, 2018, in Deltona, FL.

He was born August 6, 1952 in Lubbock, TX, to Mayo and Tijauna (Graham) Loper.  He was raised in Aberanthy,  graduated from Abernathy High School and attended Lubbock Christian University. While living in Abernathy, he began his career as a welder and farmer and was employed by Wolf Irrigation as a down hole video operator.  Tony moved to Florida in May of 2002 and was employed with the Seminole County Clerk of Courts for 15 years, he was the head of computer operations. Tony married Paulette Koogler, October 11, 2003 in Deltona, FL.  Tony was a member of the Church of Christ and was the song leader at the Deltona Church of Christ.  

He was preceded in death by a son, Cory Dale Loper, August 2, 1986, his Mother, Tijauna Loper on October 12, 2006 and his Father-in-law, Gale Koogler on March 21, 2017.

He is survived by his wife, Paulette Loper of Deltona, FL, his father, Mayo Loper of Abernathy, 2 sons, Damon Loper and wife Laura of Argyle, TX and Dax Loper and fiance Latesha of Paradise, TX, 2 step-children, Carey Boroczk and husband Keith of West Carrollton, OH and Ryan Switzer and wife Christine of Debary, FL, a sister Judy Gunter of Lubbock, TX, 2 brothers, David Loper and wife Judy of Spokane, WA and Douglas Loper of Abernathy and 7 grandchildren.
