Obituary of Daniel Sisson

Graveside services for Daniel Sisson, 70, of Big Spring, TX, will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, September 7, 2018, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Joel Perez officiating.  Services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.

Mr. Sisson died Monday, September 3, 2018, in Midland, TX.

He was born January 27, 1948 in Honey Grove, TX to George Walter and Irene (Williams) Sisson.  He graduated from Idalou High School, Idalou, TX, in 1966.  He married Anita Miller, May 27, 1966 and to that union was born 2 daughters, Michelle and Sheari.  He began working as parts manager at Thompson Implement in Abernathy and later worked in other communities, including Slaton and Lorenzo, TX before retiring from Hurst Farm Supply in Abernathy.  He met Paula Sue in 2006 and they moved to Wichita Falls, TX, later they moved to Klamath Falls, OR, and were married November 4, 2012.  They returned to Texas, moving to Big Spring, where they resided until his death.  Daniel was happy, he loved to make people laugh and often was referred to as the "nicest man you ever met".

Daniel was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheari Ford, Febuary 19, 2013, sister Kay Blake, half-sisters, Dorothy Sisson, Lucille Jones, Thelma Brown, Virginia Dollar, Laverne Jackson and Frieda Sisson and half brothers, William "Billy" Sisson, Bobby Sisson and Basil Sisson.

He is survived by his wife, Paula Sisson of Big Spring, TX, a daughter, Michelle Maggard and husband Kenneth of Decatur, TX, a step-daughter, Leslie Lamphere of Lubbock, TX, 3 grandchildren, Mikah Armstrong of Houston, TX, and Kimberly McCullough and John Paul Ford and wife Hannah all of Lubbock, a step- granddaughter, Bailey Edwards of Lubbock, 3 great grandchildren, Thomas Armstrong, Thomas Ford and Lillie Sheari-Rose Ford.  He is also survived by 2 sisters, Shirley Fisk and Linda Hensler, a brother, Lynn Sisson and brother-in-law, Terry Riportella and half-brother, Jackie Sisson.

The family suggests memorials be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105
