Services for Ann Bufe-McDuff, 74, of New Deal, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2011, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Ron Bontrager and Harold Bufe officiating. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX. The family received friends at Abell Funeral Home Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm. She died Wednesday, December 14, 2011, in Lubbock, TX. She was born June 11, 1937 in Russellville, AR. to Glenn and Lucille (Bowden) Speer. She was a lifelong resident of the New Deal area. She married Raymond Bufe on February 10, 1960, in Lubbock, TX, and to that union was born 3 children. He preceded her in death on April 19, 2002. July 7, 2007 at 7:00pm she married Richard "Dick" McDuff in Granbury, TX. She was employed at Acosta for 18 years retiring in December of 2006. She was Auxillary Past State President of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where she became a member in the 1970's and was a member of the Lubbock Lodge #4271. She ran a home bakery for many years and her hobby became baking and decorating cakes. She is survived by her husband Dick McDuff of New Deal, TX, 3 children, Donna Garcia of New Deal, Darrell Bufe of New Deal and Sonya Bufe of Tampa, FL, one step daughter, Liz Old of Deer Park, TX. She is also survived by 2 sisters, Glenna Hobgood of Granbury, TX and Wanda Wren of Lake Stamford, TX, and a brother James Speer of Idalou, TX and 11 Grandchildren. The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society or a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
