Heaven has gained another gentle giant...she was small in stature, but very big in her love and service. There was never any doubt that she and Joe both loved me and my family...She adored her husband and one of her favorite things was having all of her family together. She was very fond of Steve Gauntt and never missed a chance to tell us how much she missed us. She hosted showers to celebrate our 3 kids born in our time with her and she loved all 4 of them like her own. She called me to her house to celebrate my graduation from grad school long after we moved to Plainview... she wanted me know how proud she was of my accomplishments. She’s one of the reasons I write a Christmas letter every year, because she told me she enjoyed it so. She was more than a friend and I want to be just like her! I love her so and I will miss her greatly! ❤️

NOOOOOO.... I can’t even start to explain my grief... Joe and Jerry Dell Oswalt took me under their wings when I first started going to Church of Christ in Abernathy at a very young age..It was only us kids, Maria, Virginia, myself, and Joey, and so we wouldn’t be sitting without parents, Joe and Jerry took me, while Betty Riley took my sisters and brother, Joe and Jerry just loved me so much they wanted me with them...I sat with them them until I left Abernathy at 17 and kept in touch with them since. When I had my kids, any time we visited Abernathy and had time, we’d stop by to see Joe and Jerry and she would break out the ice cream...Boy this one hurts
Wish I could have said one last good bye...
These tears won’t stop.....I can’t stop my cry...
Gone too soon I didn’t get my last hug.....
Cherishing your every gift.. ....even your mug...
You’re beautiful smile brightened up my day..
Loss for words.. what should I say..,
Your Angelic face.. now leaving this earth..,
A beautiful Angel ..your new birth
