Obituary of Ronald Tyson

Celebration of Life Services for Ronald Lynn Tyson, "A Man To Ride The River With", 64, of New Deal, TX, were held at 11:00 am, Monday, September 25, 2006, in the First Baptist Church, Lubbock, TX, with Rev. Bobby Dagnel and Rev. Tim Winn officiating. Private burial was held in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Tyson died Saturday, September 23, 2006, in Covenant Lakeside Medical Center, Lubbock, TX. He was born September 16, 1942 in Lubbock, TX and married Karol Suzanne King March 25, 1967 in Canadian, TX. He graduated from Texas Tech University and had lived in New Deal since 1967 where he taught at New Deal High School for 30 years. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Lubbock, TX. He is survived by his wife Karol Tyson of New Deal, TX, a son, Trent King Tyson and his wife Jandi of Canyon, TX, 2 daughters, Ronna Smalley and her husband Kelly of Petersburg, TX and Tonya Jackson and her husband Tony of Shallowater, TX, and 7 grandchildren, Katherine, Elizabeth, Victoria and Charlotte Smalley, Wesley and Tyson Jackson and Benjamin Tyson. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Ranching Heritage Association, Joe Arrington Cancer Center, or Hospice of Lubbock. Abell Funeral Home
