Services for Latane Hale Roberson, 86, of Petersburg, Tx., were held at 10:00 am Wednesday, November 7, 2001, in the Main Street Church of Christ, Petersburg, Tx., with Owen Carr officiating. Burial followed in the Petersburg Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mrs. Roberson died at her home Sunday, November 4, 2001. She was born on September 5, 1915 in Paris, Texas to John Samuel and Stella Traylor Hale. She moved with her family to Floydada, Tx., in 1918. She was a graduate of Floydada High School and attended Wayland Baptist College. She married Kenneth A. Roberson on July 28, 1934 in Roswell, N.M. They had been married for 66 years at the time of his death on May 4, 2000. Mrs. Roberson was very active in civic organizations, including the Petersburg PTA, Petersburg Lions Club, Petersburg 4-H Club, Petersburg Chamber of Commerce and the Petersburg Beautification Association. She also was active in the Lubbock Women's Club, Lubbock Christian University Associates and the Main Street Church of Christ in Petersburg. She is survived by; 1 Son, Kenneth A. Roberson, Jr. of Austin, Tx., 1 Daughter, Dolores R. Bennett of Lubbock, Tx., 1 Brother, Sam Hale of Floydada, Tx., 1 Sister, Mona Rainer of San Diego, Ca. 6 Grandchildren, Robin Bennett Cleveland of Charleston, S. C., Ross R. Bennett of Lubbock, Tx., Lacy E. Roberson of Paris, France, Sloan C. Roberson, Karleigh A. Roberson and Karter A. Roberson all of Austin, Tx.
