Rosary for Jean Kveton, (Mama Jean), of Abernathy, TX, was recited at 7:00 pm Friday, February 8, 2008, in St. Isidore Catholic Church. Funeral Mass was celebrated at 11:00 am Saturday, February 9, 2008, in St. Isidore Catholic Church. Burial followed in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. She was born on the family farm near Slaton, TX on February 6, 1929. Mrs. Kveton died in Lubbock, TX on Tuesday, February 5, 2008. She married John Edward Kveton on January 26, 1954 in Slaton, TX. She was a graduate of Slaton High School in 1945 and moved to Abernathy in 1954, and was a member of St. Isidore Catholic Church in Abernathy. She was preceded in death by 2 children, Grace Kveton and John Edward Kveton, Jr. She was also preceded in death by family members, Lan Ho Do, Josalin Reinitz and Teadros Filigesalam. She is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, John E. Kveton, daughters, Kit Linton and husband Ben Linton, Ann Kveton and husband Scott Capps, Julia Apodaca and husband Dani Apodaca, Sandra Kveton, Jane Dever and husband James Dever, her grandchildren, April Linton, Rachel Linton and numerous others for whom she was Grandma Jean, 2 sisters, Rusty Hastings and Audrey Kitten. She is also survived by family, Barbara Jackson, Carolina Montes, Hue Ho Handy, Hoa Breen and husband John Breen, Ninh Ho, Thanh Ho and wife Carol Ho, Hong Hoang and husband Ngoc Hoang, Mai Yon and husband Ron Yon, Long Ho, Gery Henderson and Ben Aqua, Martin Hagen and Bettina Winkler, Woly Faye and wife Sophie Faye, Roz Lizan and husband, Dani Rizal, Alex Dvorak, Han Do and wife Maggie Do, Jesse Yeh and wife Cheng-Chih Hseih, Frank Liu and wife Bayier Chong. She leaves many others around the world who felt touched by her legacy of compassion, tolerance, faith, and unconditional love. The family suggests memorials be sent to your favorite charity.
