Obituary of James Robert Neve

We express our sympathies to Wilson Neve and Janice McKenzie in the death of their brother. James Robert Neve, 79, passed away on March 8, 2024, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was born on January 19, 1945, in Brady, Texas, to Martin Wilson Neve and Marie Sarah (Nix) Neve. Upon graduating from Abernathy High School, he served in the National Guard for five years. He married the love of his life, Brenda Daily, on July 20, 1971, in Abernathy, Texas. After starting their family in Abernathy, James and his family moved to Stephenville in 1986. James worked as a farm hand, in the cotton gin, and then for International Harvester as a parts manager in Abernathy. He was a truck driver for 33 years hauling milk and water in Stephenville area. James is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay (Daily) Neve, daughters; Shanda Neve of Arlington, Taisha Armstrong of Dublin, a son, Anthony Neve, as well as grandkids; Ashtyn Armstrong of Stephenville, Sheldon Armstrong of Dublin, Billy Dale Mercer of Stephenville, and Kaleb Neve of Arlington, 4 great-grandbabies, a brother, Wilson Neve of Abernathy, a sister, Janice McKenzie of Lubbock, and several nieces, nephews, and friends. James is preceded in death by his mom, Marie Nix Neve, his dad, Martin Neve, and a brother-in-law, Don McKenzie. A funeral service for James will be held on Tuesday, March 12, 2024, at 2 P.M. Family visitation will be an hour prior to the service, at Stephenville Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at West End Cemetery in Stephenville, Texas.
