Francisco Uribe was born December 3, 1938 in Durango, Mexico to Fidel and Theresa (Pantojo) Uribe.While he was a young man, he served in the Mexican Military, where he became a part of the agreement between the United States and the Mexican governments that allowed Mexican farm laborers to relocate to America to assist the American farmers serving in WWII, known as the Bracero Program. He moved to the United States in the 60's through the Bracero Program and eventually settled with his family in Abernathy, TX.  He was a private man who enjoyed his farming, raising animals and growing plants.  He was a Catholic and everything he did was for his children and grandchildren.  Mr. Uribe died Thursday, May 25, 2017, in Lubbock, TX.

He is survived by 2 children, Monica Uribe Bonilla of Dallas, TX and Joseph Uribe and wife Norma of Abernathy, and 6 grandchildren, Michael and Cheyenne Farley and Camila, Lucero, Gabriella and Natalia Uribe.

Cremation is under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
