Services for Bob Rogers, of Abernathy, TX, will be held Tuesday, August 16, 1994, in the Abernathy First Baptist Church with Rev. E. C. Chron, Rev. Gary Martin and Rev. Hollis Shewmake, officiating. Burial will follow in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mr. Rogers was employed by Hancock Terracing Company, Lubbock, TX, in the early 1950's. He was a member of the Abernathy Masonic Lodge # 1142, and was a member of the Northside Baptist Church, where he served as Deacon since 1966. He is a current member of the Abernathy Riding Club and had served as President. He married Nadine Boyd, February 11, 1950 in Lubbock, TX. He is survived by his wife, Nadine Rogers of Abernathy, TX, a son, Bobby Rogers of Hale Center, TX, 3 daughters, Gerry Hunter of Hale Center, TX, Pamela Chapman of Salado, TX and Nelda Bartley of Abernathy. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Kenneth Rogers of Abernathy and C. L. Rogers of Littlefield, TX, 4 sisters, Margie Fails of Meadow, TX, Maxine Thompson, Bonnie Nichols and Jackie Wardlow all of Lubbock, TX and 16 grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to the Texas Boys Ranch, Rt. 7, Box 200, Lubbock, TX 79401 or to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch, Amarillo, TX.
