Rosary for Sylvia R. Perez, 57, of Hale Center, TX will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church at 7:00 pm Sunday, January 25th. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 pm Monday, January 26th, in the same church with Rev. John Smith, pastor, officiating. Cremation and services are under the direction of Abell Funeral Home & Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Perez died Thursday, January 22, 2015, in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 2, 1957 in Ogden, UT to Oscar and Stella Marie (Garcia) Rocha. She married Edward Castillo on October 2, 1998 in Hale Center, TX. A woman full of life, she opened her heart and home to anyone that needed it. The love she shared with everyone she met was without bounds. A dedicated mother and wife, she worked hard her entire life to provide for her five children and twelve grandchildren. A loving and giving person, Sylvia spent 40 years of her life helping others at Hi-Plains Hospital and later at Plainview Hospital. She worked as a surgical technician at Plainview Hospital for 21 years. She was a member of St. Theresa Catholic Church. She is survived by her husband Edward Castillo of Hale Center, 5 children, Anthony and Lucy Perez of Cannon AFB, Jeremy and Maria Perez of Grapevine, TX, Jacob and Carl Triplett of Washington, D. C., Casey Perez and Gloria Castillo of Hale Center, TX and Tiffany Perez and Victor Flores of Grapevine, TX, 12 grandchildren, Constance, Austin, Alisadee, Kirsten, Salisatty, Destiny, Dravin, Alexis, Jeremy, Jariyah, Brookelyn and Baileigh, 7 siblings, Christine Castillo, Steve Rocha, Tommy Rocha, Tina Martinez, Fernando Vargas, Misty Vargas and Stacy Vargas.
