Rodney Boykin

Graveside services for Rodney Boykin, 86, of Shallowater, Tx., were held at 3 pm Friday, November 30, 2001, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Kevin O'Brien officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mr. Boykin died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, in University Medical Center, Lubbock, Tx. He was born on October 30, 1915 in Decatur, Tx. He married Daisy Lebow on June 28, 1939 in Abernathy, Tx. He served in the United States Army from 1943 until 1945. He moved to Shallowater from Lubbock, Tx., in 1975 and was a member of the Bethany Baptist Church in Lubbock. He was preceded in death by 1 daughter, Priscilla Brockett. He is survived by his wife, Daisy Boykin of Shallowater, Tx. 2 sons, Anthony Boykin of Shallowater, Tx., and Quinton Boykin of Las Vegas, Nev. 2 daughters, Lillian Sanders of Princeton, Tx., and Brenda Baldwin of Shallowater, Tx. 2 brothers, Johnny Boykin and Leon Boykin. 3 sisters, Mary Murrelle, Alma and Ruby Faye Knezek 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
