Darrell and Norma were one of the few EMS friends that attended my Dad's funeral. I was devastated when my Dad passed away, and as i was leaving the church to get into the car to go to the cemetery someone grabbed me and pulled me in for a big bear like hug, it was Darrell. He put his arms around me and said,&quot; Son the man you knew and remember will always live right here&quot;, as he pounded me in the chest with his hand, to make sure I knew he meant in my heart. So i just want to tell all of his family, remember the words of such a wise man, and keep those memories alive always in your heart. Thanks Darrell for being there when i needed that friendship. I am honored to have had the chance to call you papaw. You were an amazing man, an not only that but you always cared for even the people you didn't know. You had a heart that was always a loving one no matter the mood. I always remember when I was little we would go down to pattons parts and drink coffee and I would get a big red. You always said big red for the little red. You always called me your little girl, and always reminded me that "papaw loves you." You were a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. You have taught us grand kids all so much. You are a big idol to many. I hope one day I can be half the person you are to my kids and grand kids. Life won't be the same without you around. But I will alway k ow your in heaven looking down on me. I know I won't have to wash my car and get excited to come home and show you how clean it is, cause you'll be able to see it right there in heaven. I love you papaw. I miss you so much already. Please give my daddy a hug for me and tell him I miss him so much as well. One day y'all will be at the area of heaven waiting for me... That will be the best day ever.

I have never been more proud of you since you have gone to be with Our Lord and Savior. You have received so many kind words of compliments for who you truly were.
