Memorial services for Kenneth Rogers, 74, of Abernathy, TX were held at 11:00 am Wednesday, July 23, 2008, in the Abernathy Church of Christ with Steve Gauntt officiating. Cremation and services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. He was born July 21, 1933 in New Moore, TX to Claudie Lee "Jack" Rogers and Ethel Lee Brown Rogers. He married Montez Smith on September 26, 1953 in Clovis, NM. The Rogers family has lived in Abernathy since 1971, he loved dominoes, farming and his family. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bob Rogers and 4 sisters, Winelle Blackmon, Sybil Ellis, Maxine Thompson and Jackie Jo Wardlaw. He is survived by his wife, Montez Rogers of Abernathy, TX, 2 sons, Dick Rogers and his wife Lynett of Irving, TX, and Doug Rogers and his wife Donna of Lubbock, TX, 2 daughters, Cheryl Glover and her husband Boyd of Lawton, Ok and Cathy Rogers of Keller, TX. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Dustin, Ashleigh, Martin, Cody and Amy, and 4 great grandchildren, Taylor, Zachary, Colby and Ava. He is survived by siblings, C. L. Rogers of Lubbock, TX, Bonnie Teague of Lubbock, Tx and Margie Fails of Meadow, TX. The family suggests memorials be made to the Abernathy Church of Christ. Abell Funeral Home
