Services for S.C. Richardson, 84, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Monday, December 16, 2002 at the Halfway Baptist Church with Rev. Gordon Benson, pastor, officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Richardson died December 10, 2002 at Covenant Medical Center in Lubbock, TX. He was born on December 7, 1918 in McLean,TX. He married Margaret Ruth Shackelford on October 26, 1940 in Big Springs, Texas. She died on February 10, 2002. He graduated from Lockney High School and moved to Hale Center from Lockney in 1947. He was a member and a deacon of the First Baptist Church in Halfway and prior to that at the First Baptist Church in Mayfield. Survivors include 1 son: Sammy Richardson of Lubbock, TX 1 daughter: Kathy Richardson of Center Point, TX. 1 brother: Garner Richardson of Amarillo, TX 2 sisters: Mildred Harper of El Paso, TX and Melrose Perkins of Dallas, TX.
