Services for Sherry Ray, 58, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 11:00 am Tuesday, April 16, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Hale Center, with Rev. Gene Meacham and Rev. Glenn Saul officiating. Burial followed in the Rochester Cemetery with John Armstrong officiating. Services were under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mrs. Ray died at her home Sunday morning, April 14, 2002. She was born on September 15, 1943 to Calvin and Jean (Bacon) Patridge, in Cumby, TX. She attended school in Plainview, TX, and married Wayne Ray on November 1, 1975 in Abernathy, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hale Center, where she taught G.A.'s and Sunday School. She was a member of the Hale Center Band Booster Club, serving as past vice-president. She was a hairdresser, secretary, cotton classer with USGA, and she was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her mother, Jean Patridge in 1997. She is survived by; husband, Wayne Ray of Hale Center, TX, 1 son, Roger Ray of Plainview, TX, 2 daughters, Jeanna Barnes and her husband Jimmy of Plainview, TX, and Lisa Bartley also of Plainview, TX. father, Calvin Patridge of Plainview, TX, 7 grandchildren, Jonathan Weaver & Jennifer Weaver, Kimberly, Kayla & Ricky Ray, Robert & Katlin Barnes. 1 sister, Sheila Armstrong 6 brothers, Danny Patridge, Greg Patridge, Steve Patridge, Jerry Patridge, Doyce Patridge and Joel Patridge.
