Mittie Pruett

Mittie Lucile Pruett, 73, of Wolfforth, TX, entered the loving arms of our Lord on Wednesday, July 27, 2005, after a lengthy illness. Graveside services were held at 4:00 pm, Thursday, July 28, 2005, in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Jim Squires, son-in-law, officiated. She was born December 17, 1931 in Conecuh County, Ala. She married J. T. Merritt in 1949 and they moved to Lubbock, TX. He preceded her in death in 1975. She married Royce Pruett on March 14, 1983. She is survived by her husband Royce of Wolfforth, TX, a son DeWayne Merritt of Denver City, TX, three daughters, JoAnne Squires and her husband Jim of Lubbock, TX, Patricia Davis and her husband Elton of Hereford, TX and Sandy Johnson of Lamesa, TX, one son, Jim Merritt of Montrose, CO and a step-son David Pruett of Florence, TX, 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity. Abell Funeral Home
