Services for Jim Mills, 62, of Abernathy, Tx, were held at 11:00 am Friday, May 31, 2002, in the First United Methodist Church, Abernathy, Tx, with Rev. Steve Campbell officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mr. Mills died on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Lubbock, Tx. He was born on December 5, 1939 in Munday, Tx. He was a lifelong Abernathy resident, and graduated from Abernathy High School in 1958. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church where he was a member of the choir. He was a retired farmer, co-owner and manager of West Texas Pipe And Supply for 30 years. He supported the local 4-H, FFA and youth baseball leagues. Survivors, 2 sons, Kelly Mills of Abernathy, Tx and Stacy Mills of Carlsbad, N.M. Mother, Mrs. J. C. Mills of Abernathy, Tx. 2 sisters, Shirley Coxon of Lubbock, Tx, and Patsy Baker of Idalou, Tx. 6 grandchildren The family suggests memorials be sent to the First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund, 704 Ave. D, Abernathy, Tx, 79311
