Wendell F. Attebury Graveside services for Wendell F. Attebury, 60, of New Deal,TX, were held at 2 pm Saturday, December 1, 2001, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Jeff Petillo officiating. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mr. Attebury died Wednesday, November 28, 2001, at University Medical Center in Lubbock, Tx. He was born May 23, 1941 in Lubbock County, Tx. He was a longtime Lubbock area resident and had served on the New Deal School Board. He had previously been employed by the Texas Juvenile Correctional Facility in Brownwood, Tx., and was a farmer. Survivors; 3 daughters, Tammy Johnson Of Denver, Co., Kimberly Thiel of Lubbock, Tx., and Regina O'Steen of Houston, Tx. 3 brothers, James Attebury of Lubbock, Tx., T.J. Attebury and David Attebury both of Abernathy, Tx. 2 sisters, Kathleen Howell of Anton, Tx., and June Pate of Atlanta, Tx. 4 grandchildren, Whitney and Candace Thiel, Chris Johnson and Kaycee O'Steen.
