Obituary of Alvin Leach

Graveside services for Alvin Leach, 54, of Lubbock, TX, were held at 11:00 am Thursday, March 14, 2002, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. John Lowrie officiating. Burial followed services under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy. Mr. Leach died Sunday, March 10, 2002, in Mercy Hospital in Laredo, TX. He was born on April 16, 1947 in Commanche County, TX. He attended Abernathy Schools. He was a police officer in the Houston, TX area for 17 years, before becoming the owner and operater of BAS Transport. He also was a rancher. He was a former member of the Oddfellow Lodge in Abernathy, and was a member of the Abernathy First Baptist Church. Survivors; 4 daughters, Becky Estes and Sherry Montiel both of Lubbock, TX, Anita Lightfoot of Andrews, TX, and Michelle Leach of McAllen, TX. 2 brothers, Bill Leach of Llano, TX, and Travis Leach of Houston, TX. 2 sisters, Twitty Watts and Jeannie Grisham both of Abernathy, TX. 6 granddaughters, Spring Dodd, Summer Dodd, Brittany Ramber and Halie Ramber all of Lubbock, TX, Farrah Lightfoot and Kacie Lightfoot both of Andrews, TX.
