Services for Winnie Earline Johnson, 81, of Abernathy, TX were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, June 29, 2002, in the Abernathy First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ron Kelley and Rev. John Lowrie officiating. Burial followed services in the Abernathy Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, TX. Mrs. Johnson died Thursday, June 27, 2002, in Lubbock, TX. She was born on February 11, 1921 in Memphis, TX. She moved to Abernathy in 1955 and had previously lived in Hico, TX, and Hale Center, TX. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Abernathy. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Edith Howard in 1982.
