Burnie Hardin

Graveside services for Burnie Hardin, 98, were held at 2:00 pm Saturday, May 30, 2009, in the Abernathy Cemetery with Rev. Brian Brownlow of Abernathy First United Methodist Church officiating. Visitation was held prior to services at Abell Funeral Home in Abernathy. Mrs. Hardin was born January 29, 1911 in Hale County, TX. She died Thursday, May 28, 2009, in Lubbock, TX. She married Alvin Washie Hardin, he passed away on March 3, 1983. She graduated from Abernathy High School and McMurry College. She was a lifelong Abernathy resident and owned and operated Burnie's Beauty Shop for over 50 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Senior Citizens and was active in a bridge club. She is survived by 6 nieces and nephews, Cynie Hopkins of Chilicothe, TX, Bo Faulkenberry of Tyler, TX, Judy McElroy of Prairie Ville, LA, Shirley Landrum of Monroe, LA, Kay Galloway of Baton Rouge, LA and Omie Maupin of Richmond, CA.
