Services for Jessie Audrey Amerson, 78, of Abernathy,Tx were held at 3:00 pm Thursday, May 30, 2002, in the First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Gene Amerson and Rev. William Mayo officiating. Burial followed services in the City Of Lubbock Cemetery, Lubbock, Tx under the direction of Abell Funeral Home of Abernathy, Tx. Mrs. Amerson died on Tuesday, May 28, 2002, in Lubbock, Tx. She was born on May 16, 1924 in Blum, Tx. She married Alvis Preston Amerson on December 15, 1942. She was a lifelong Abernathy resident and a member of the First United Methodist Church. She is survived by; husband, Preston Amerson of Abernathy, Tx. 1 son, Gene Amerson of Denison, Tx. 3 daughters, Deanna Cole and Sharron Robertson both of Shallowater, Tx, and Dawn Westmoreland of Abernathy, Tx. 1 brother, E. J. Pope, Jr. of Abernathy, Tx. 9 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
