Obituary of Judith Gressett

Judith Ellen Tabor Gressett, 62, of Hale Center Texas, passed away on Friday, January 29, 2010 in Hale Center. She was born November 6, 1947 in Midland Texas where she was also raised. Her parents were Eugene Martin Tabor and Zell Kathleen Higdon Tabor. Judy graduated from Midland High School in 1965. She attended Sul Ross University in Alpine Texas. Throughout the years, she worked as an Executive Assistant for various companies, colleges, and banks, as well as served as a Program Director for the United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and aunt. She is a committed Christian with a strong faith. She loved to have fun with her family more than anything else. Her sense of humor touched everyone that she met. She enjoyed traveling. Learning was her lifelong pursuit. She loved being surrounded by nature and spent time camping, hiking, fishing, and visiting the ocean and the mountains. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Cox and husband Steven and granddaughters, Kathleen and Stefani of Pecos, Texas; her daughter Jo Ellen Hoke and husband Chris and grandsons Braden and Callen of Homewood, Alabama; her sister Helen Swanson and husband John and niece Carrie Tonne and nephew John Jr. of Corpus Christi, Texas; her sister Melanie Agan and husband Michael of Hale Center and nieces Robin Pruitt of Lubbock and Renee Robinett of Levelland Texas; as well as many cousins, grandnieces, and grandnephews. She is preceded in death by her parents. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
