Services for Millard H. Gibson, 88, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, June 12, 2002, in the First Baptist Church, Hale Center, with Rev. Glenn Saul and Rev. Ted Latham officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center, TX. Mr. Gibson died Sunday, June 9, 2002, in Plainview, TX. He was born on September 27, 1913 to Franklin Joseph and Myra Elizabeth Mitchener Gibson East of Hale Center. He graduated from Hale Center High School in 1933, and married Corinne Dobbins on December 16, 1939 at Stonewall County, TX. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the First Baptist Church where he had been active in the Baptist Men's Organization. He retired from farming in 1975. Survivors; wife, Corinne Gibson of Hale Center, TX, 2 daughters, Rosalind Williams and her husband Bill T. of Trent, TX, and Beth Rumbaugh and her husband Jackie of Kress, TX. 4 grandchildren, Candace Williams of San Angelo, TX, Slate Williams of Lubbock, TX, Chris Rumbaugh of Dallas, TX, and Joshua Rumbaugh of Kress, TX.
