Ovie Fields

Services for Ovie Fields, 92, of Hale Center, Tx. were held at 2:00 pm Sunday, in the Hale Center First United Methodist Church with Jackie King officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Freeman-Abell Funeral Home of Hale Center. Mr. Fields died on Thursday, July 4, 2002, in Hurst, Tx. He was born on April 12, 1910 in Cranfels Gap, TX. He married Ina Dee Pederson on January 6, 1932 in Cranfels Gap. He moved to Hale Center in 1950 from Petersburg, TX, and previously from Cranfels Gap. He farmed at Cranfels Gap, and upon moving to Hale Center he owned and operated Fields Garage until retiring in 1972. He was a member of the Woodmen of the World and the Hale Center First United Methodist Church. Survivors; wife of 70 years, Ina Dee Fields of Hale Center, Tx. 1 daughter, Reba McMinn of North Richland Hills, Tx. 3 grandchildren and their spouses, Steven & Angie Fields, Shaen & Paulette McKnight and Devon & Jeff McCain. 2 great grandchildren, Carson and Graham McCain.
