Eva Ferguson

Services for Eva Mae (Billie) Ferguson, 94, of Hale Center, TX, were held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, March 8, 2011, in the First Baptist Church in Hale Center, TX with Dr. Carrol Green officiating. Burial followed in the Hale Center Cemetery under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Hale Center, TX. There was a family visitation from 5:00 to 7:00 pm Monday, March 7, 2011 at Abell Funeral Home in Hale Center. Mrs. Ferguson died March 4, 2011 at Lubbock Hospitality House in Lubbock, TX. She was born August 5, 1916 in Goldthwaite, TX to Samuel Bascom and Mary Elizabeth Davis. She moved with her family from Goldthwaite to Abernathy in 1925 and then moved to Hale Center in 1932. She married Jim A. Ferguson on September 9, 1934 in Clovis, NM. He passed away on November 3, 1988. She was a Baptist. She is survived by 2 sons, James (Jimmy) Ferguson of Plainview, TX and Bobby Ferguson of Lamesa, TX; 1 daughter, Rosemary and her husband Royce Duckett of Lubbock, TX; 1 brother, Marvin Davis of Lubbock, TX; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Davis and 3 brothers, Bill Davis, Wilbur Jack (Shorty) Davis, and Arvil (Sam) Davis.
