Obituary of Eugene Crumpler

Funeral service for Eugene Wesley Crumpler, 67, of Abernathy, TX, were held at 10:00 am Friday, February 5, 2010, in the First Baptist Church with Rev. Joel Perez and Rev. Mike O'Donnell officiating. Graveside services were held at 3:00 pm that afternoon at the Paducah Cemetery, Paducah, TX. Services were under the direction of Abell Funeral Home and Flower Shop of Abernathy, TX.
The family gathered at Abell Funeral Home, Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm to receive friends.
Mr. Crumpler died at his home, Monday, February 1, 2010.
He was born May 24, 1942 in Merkel, TX. He married Betty Jean Boyle in Paducah, TX on February 10, 1962. They moved to Abernathy from Paducah in 1971. He was an employee and co-owner of City Gin for a combined 30 years. He was dedicated to his work by heart. He loved to travel and fish and was a devoted family man.
He is survived by his wife, Betty Crumpler of Abernathy, TX, 4 children, Beverly Allen and husband Roger, Terry Smith and wife Renee all of Amarillo, TX, Debora Robertson and husband Jeff of Plano, TX and Eugene Wesley Crumpler, Jr and wife Michele of Abernathy. He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren, 3 brothers, Freddie Crumpler of Overton, TX, Glen Crumpler of Clanton, Ala and Hollis Crumpler of White Deer, TX, 2 sisters, Fredia Reed of Tyler, TX and Cora Hamm of Seymour, TX.
The family suggests memorials be sent to a favorite charity.
